is something that you must always be on the lookout for - bed bugs.
These

in laundry the source of the infestation can be tracked down and dealt
with.

You should schedule inspections at least 4 times a year when
everything is checked for bed bugs - beds, bed sheets, bed frames, bed
headboards, wheelchairs and medical equipment that patients come into
contact with.

Medical staff should know how to identify bed bug bites on new
patients so that the right procedures can be followed during admissions. This
way the hospital will avoid getting bed bugs from patients. Part of the
discharge process for such patients should include a talk about bed bugs
and what they should do when they get home to kill the infestation.
- If a hospital employees notices bed bugs on a mattress they should
immediately cover it with a plastic sheet so as to stop the infestation
from spreading.
